Elven Pathways
is a Fansite that supports Elvenar
which is a
very charming
City Builder game

Our primary contribution is a rather elaborate Google spreadsheet which provides:

  • An Inventory of the Buildings that are currently placed in your city. There are 18,000 different building configurations, if you account for the minor changes in looks and capabilities as the Chapters progress. Some of the cities are simply Gorgeous, while others look like a Mud Fence until you look at their performance numbers, which will have their own kind of beauty. Whereupon you’ll realize just how much scope the game provides for your imagination. Our spreadsheet facilitates the exploration and sharing of city designs.

    • There’s some rather nice data driven Eye Candy, which still manages to impart a sense of urgency regarding the Buildings and Spells that will soon expire, along with the Cultural Contributions PER Square that will soon be forfeit.

    • Supply Chain analytical tools will allow you to do the Right Thing at the Right Time, and they will also support for your curiosity when you want to explore a less traveled Elven Pathways.

  • The Strategy portion of the fansite is more hand-wavish.

    • The AW Swap Plus page advocates a particularly effective approach to Ancient Wonder Contributions, and Neighborly Help, which you may not have considered. It’s counterintuitive to jump directly to the full value of the 2nd best of the available Award Chests, but the results speak for themselves, The SwapPlus approach is very low maintenance, doesn’t spam the message channels, and easily sweeps folks who are soloing or are members of Fellowships that don’t pay much attention to Ancient Wonders. And it’s not at all surprising that happy neighbors will often become happy members of your Fellowship.

    • The tessellated structure of the World Map is discussed in considerable detail, because the same nine city block is repeated over and over again, and the consequent relationships drive most of the symmetries in the game design.

    • The sections on Fighting, Negotiation, Spire, Tournament, and the Magic Academy are in the shallow end of the pool.

Racial Dynamics

Aesthetics, and consequently the size and footprint of their buildings, is the main difference between Elves and Humans. Once you’re past the first few tutorial chapters, there will also be a different Guest Race in each chapter. The look and feel of the each chapter varys accordingly (intentionally so), which keeps things fresh and lively, although you might not realize that if you only listen to the “outrageous, just horrible” comments that frequently pop up in our Discord channel.

Website Status
(September 15, 2025)

We’re still several weeks from Showtime, but the website is coming together quite nicely.

  • The structure of the City Map section of the spreadsheet is complete, although we’ll be adding more cities, along the way, as requested, and to fill in a few gaps.

  • The structure of the Supply Chain portion (ActiveDays) of the spreadsheet is complete. Over the next several weeks we’ll be detailing Supply Chain workups for each of the Settlements, and the related Manufacturing infrastructure. Once that portion of the spreadsheet is up to speed, we’ll be approaching a wide variety of players, and offering to do a workup for their particular city, and the cities that are owned by their alts.
